Although I'm totally obsessed with this hobby, I will get out and do some fishing and play a few rounds of golf. What does everyone else do?

Why is lemonade made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Beautiful pieces there!!! I used to make silver jewelry and sold some of it too.

Those stones really would have looked great in some of the designs that I made.

I also play drums with some bands and fix things for the wife ( laughter)!

Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!

Hey retiredgun,
Any chance you can ID this stone/ value the piece? I found the piece metal detecting it's about 1 1/2" X 2" There are no marks on the metal, it came out of the ground just like you see it. If you look at the back you can see there are 2 ways to hang it from a necklace head-up or down. Thanks for looking.

The stone looks like an agate but I don't know what type.  I do see an area of banding in the lower half of the stone which makes me think agate.  The metal looks like nickle silver or pewter.  As far as value I would say about $15 - $25 when originally sold.

The lapis cost would be $5/ct or so the stone weighs 28.7ct, the jasper pendant set in a sterling cinch mount would sell for $20 - $25 it is 40mm x 30mm and the tigereye should go for $25.  I cut them all from rough material I purchased a number of years ago.  Lapidary has been my hobby for about 30 years.
